Maronti Beach Ischia: the largest beach on the island

Maronti Beach is the longest and most spectacular beach on Ischia, stretching for nearly 2 kilometres in the municipality of Barano d'Ischia. With its fine dark volcanic sand, crystal-clear water and natural thermal springs bubbling up from the seabed and sand, it is a truly unique natural spectacle.

Natural thermal springs

One of the most fascinating features of Maronti is the presence of natural fumaroles — volcanic hot springs that emerge directly from the sand along the shoreline. You can literally sit on the sand and feel the warmth rising from below, or dip into natural hot pools formed where the thermal water meets the sea.

How to get to Maronti Beach

Maronti can be reached in two ways: by road, driving down a winding but scenic road to a small car park at the beach entrance; or by boat, with regular small-boat services departing from Sant'Angelo village. The road option is quick and easy with a scooter or small car.

Restaurants and services

Along the beach you will find several beach clubs, restaurants and bars. Fresh fish and seafood are the speciality — try the grilled sea bass or a plate of spaghetti alle vongole while looking out at the sea.

Rent a scooter or car with Ischia Fast Rental and reach Maronti Beach and all the island's hidden gems quickly and independently.
